On Saturday, May 10th we welcomed our new baby GIRLS into the world! And yes, they are monozygotic (or identical) twins. We think they are both pretty cute :)
Here are the details:
Adele Rose, once known as "Footsie", born at 2:20 AM, 18.5" long and 6 lbs, 15 ounces
Nadia Eliza, once known as "Head-Head", born at 2:26 AM, 19" long and 7 lbs, 3 ounces
In case you weren't adding, that's 20 fingers, 20 toes, and over 14 pounds of baby!!!
We have added some photos of them in our Babies! album (click on the babies slideshow on the right side of this page). We have yet to label who is who, but N has the fuller cheeks, so maybe you can tell!
We're very happy and very sleep-deprived :)

Congratulations Kara and Julian, your little girls are absolutely adorable!! I can't wait to meet them in person :)
You all look so happy! I can't wait to talk to you when you are a bit more settled. Just wait until two years from now when they ask for "Buttered cheese please". That was Annika's requested snack today... for now, good luck with that tandem nursing!!

Isn't it a wonderful feeling that they are healthy?! Congrats on all the care that you took of yourself for those 9 months that adds up to a lifetime for them. Nursing two of them should pull the weight off of you! Why it is there in the first place - they need fats. And they like mommy's pillows! ** Probably dad too.
Kara and Julian-Many congratulations on your little beauties! We have thoroughly enjoyed sharing in your last months of pregnancy (via blog) and now are happy to hear about the girls healthy, happy arrival. Be gentle with yourselves in these first weeks. Soak up the miracle.
