We finally updated the photos. Sorry it took so long; we've both been sick. See the new 5+ album for recent pictures!
Updates on the babies:
Adele has been rocking on her hands and knees for about two weeks now. We're wondering when it will propel into forward motion. Nadia has gotten up on her hands and knees a couple of times, but she doesn't seem as interested as Adele. In general Adele loves to move and shake while Nadia is more inclined to lay low. Adele is always looking at things, trying to figure them out. She'll watch something, calculate, and then deliberately move her hands towards the object if it is within reach. If Nadia takes interest in an object, she'll lunge at it with arms widespread and mouth open, ready to , well, eat it. Yum.

Chompers
We're up to four teeth now! Nadia's bottom two teeth popped through today. So far Adele and Nadia have each bit me one time. It doesn't feel good.

One Year
Happy Anniversary!
Yesterday we celebrated our first wedding anniversary. So much has happened in one year! Some loving family members expressed that they can't believe it's already been a year, but to us it feels like five (in a good way)!
We celebrated by going for a walk with the little ladies, eating Thai carry out, sampling too many desserts, and then watching a documentary. It was the first time we've watched a movie since the girls were born!
Thank you for the anniversary wishes and for loving us and our girls. It makes our world turn.

SIDS
We already know that flame retardants in upholstery and carpet cause myriad health problems in indoor pets and humans. My mom has conjectured that many cases of SIDS might be caused by all of the chemicals in crib mattresses. Well, looks like mother knows best (again). Check out this article.
With that, we're off to buy safe baby mattresses. It's going to cost a chunk, but it's worth it.

Adele has teeth! To be more precise, 1 of the 20 teeth that baby Adele was born with has erupted in honor of her 5 month birthday. Welcome through the gums, bottom right incisor! It seems that the second (bottom left incisor) won't be too far behind. Despite the teeth, Adele is still showing no interest in solid foods (we've only gone so far as to hold something mushy, such as a banana, up to her mouth). We'll wait till at least 6 months and when the girls are sitting up a bit better before we attempt to diversify their diet.
Happy toothday birthday!

Happy 5 Month Birthday!
In a few hours, Adele and Nadia will be 5 months old. How did that happen? As promised by many parents of twins who walked before us, the first few months do seem like a blur already. The truth about having twins (and maybe kids in general) is that due to all of the chaos, you really are forced to live in the moment. And those moments just keep getting better and better :)
I took a photo today of Adele and compared it to a photo of Julian when he was a baby. Jury is in: Daddy and babies are also identical. That's right, all 3 of them share the same DNA. So it looks like we actually have triplets. That means everybody should send us more food and buy a house for us and maybe get us our own TV show. Thanks.
The four of us spent this past Thur-Sunday in the lovely Radisson Hotel in the sprawling desert town of Tucson, AZ. I actually passed the majority of the time running around like a crazy chicken between functions and preparations for my eldest brother's wedding and the hotel to breastfeed the wee lassies. It was a crazy four days, but it was so nice to see family (just long enough to wave 'Hi') and for the family to spend time with the girls. Brian and Catie's wedding was so gorgeous, and it looked like they enjoyed their unforgettable evening.
I think I caught a bug on the plane or somewhere... so I should go get some rest before the girls start waking me up every few hours.
Hope everyone is enjoying autumn (in the US, at least!). Enjoy the fall colors for me if you are an east-coaster!
